What better way to record your wedding than video? Yes, you should have the obligatory photographs, which will show a snapshot of a moment, you may get a photo of the throwing of the bouquet, but not necessarily the battle to catch it.
With a video you get complete scenes from the event.
A photo is just a snapshot usually posed for, a video captures the event as it happens, no retakes!
A video will often show scenes not seen by the official photographer, including the funny moments, that often happen seconds after the photo.
